About
Hey! Welcome. I’m Amy, wife to one patient and amazing man, mom to five courageous kids ages 12-22.
I’m a mom to a larger than average family, but I’m also highly sensitive (hence the HSP in HSPmom), introverted, type B, dealing with complex trauma and health issues. Crazy, huh? Oh yeah, and we homeschool. 🙂 As of now, we have two at home (the 12 and 15 year olds), one going to high school outside of the home (the 17 year old), one in college and a recent college grad. The oldest was homeschooled K-12, and #2 and 3 were homeschooled until 8th and 9th grade.
I also use too many parentheses. You’ll get used to it, and if you don’t I hope you’ll forgive me. 🙂
My kids deal with a variety of issues that I write about now and then – dyslexia, adhd, multiple severe food allergies, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, alopecia areata, eczema, hearing loss, giftedness/twice-exceptionality (2E)/asynchronous development … hmmm, I’m sure there’s more but you get the idea.
My hands are full,
my head is full…
but most importantly my heart is full.
That is the often the only thing that gets me through the day.
It’s intense.
But I am so blessed to be here with this family of mine, and so blessed to be here to share it with you all. I tend to be a little too chatty some times, but hope every day that something in these pages will help someone.
My greatest growth happened when I found people sharing their truth without apology, so that I knew I wasn’t the only one struggling with things that are often not spoken about enough. I hope to be that for you – so that your heart can sing with a “me too!! I’m not alone!” when you are here.
